Family Store

Too good to throw away? Give it to the Sallies!

Our Family Store is located at 128 Main Road in Tawa. We have five full time paid staff with a number of volunteers who contribute so much to the running of the store. Our store hours are 9:00am till 5:00pm Monday-Friday, and 10:00am to 3:00pm Saturday or on public holidays. Proceeds received from this ministry go back into helping our Tawa Community and the wider work of the Salvation Army. Our store has many opportunities to gain work experience and to serve the community, for more information please contact our Family Store Manager in store.

Salvation Army Family Stores are a great way to recycle clothing, furniture, household goods, toys and books, and help struggling households.

The goods we sell make a huge difference to people’s lives and provide much-needed relief in tight household budgets. Profits from goods and clothing sold through our Family Stores support our community work by way of the foodbank, training courses, transitional housing, budgeting and other programs.

Family Stores are win-win—someone’s unwanted goods are often other people’s treasures. Your donations will be re-loved by someone else, raise funds for your community, and be saved from landfill! Nationally 16,000 tonnes is saved from landfill each year thanks to New Zealanders shopping at Family Stores! That’s the weight of 6.5 Olympic-size swimming pools!

Your generosity helps us make a difference by building better communities.
